Peace train's sounding louder

I'm in one of those moods where folksy rock boys will ease my pain.....

I'm feeling kinda Nick Drake-ish, minus the OD on anti-depressants. I couldn't get those if my life depended on it, unless it actually did depend on it.

I think some Damien Rice is in order as well. More melancholy mood than angsty. No emo for me.

Do ya think I'm Sexy? Not in Anal Bandits 7 I don't

So last night I started randomly editing musical artists on Wikipedia. You should try it some time, quite fulfulling. Harmless really, until I got to Paris Hilton. After mucking around, placing trivia on the R. Kelly page (which was absent this morning. You editing bastards!), I went to Ms. Hilton. Since she pretends to make music, I decided I needed to add pretend information about her.

My first addition was in her early life and background, to which I added "Though originally intended to be aborted, something went horribly wrong and she somehow survived the vacuum". Upon decision of a panel of judges, it was deemed a proper insertion. Laughs had, plans made to deface more property, and giggles all around. I also added a potential part in Anal Bandits 7, but awaiting press-results...... well I thought it was funny. I also tampered with some comment about role-models and such, but thought it was over the top.

Upon perusal this morning, all my edits were reversed, and I had received a message from some no-life, non-official editor that such actions were considered vandalism. While part of me understood why it had to be reversed, another part of me is enraged. These artists have the ability to deceive us about their identity, and frankly I think my actions merely call upon people to present fact, and not some coke-induced fiction. What I truly get indignant about is the fact that someone who isn't related, or even a biographer of Paris has the right to chastize me on my edits. Maybe she was a failed abortion? I mean she barely got her GED, so something must be wrong with her.

Stupid pseudo music-celebretards.

Lily Allen

I have fallen in love with this song. Oh the hilarity

Hmm

Thought: Is listening to one's music in a public place at ridiculous levels a sign of narcissism?

I hate ever ape I see from chimpan A to chimpan Z

DONE!!!!!!!

Dear fuzzy Jesus I'm glad. It took 20+ minutes to get all the shelves in. Who knew that enamel paint would impede the placement of said shelves? No one told me.In addition to that the damned store lost the shelving pegs so my father had come up with a new solution as I am utterly useless in such situations. Ended up getting things that look like brackets, cutting them, and have them fit in the shelving holes. It worked. The behemoth is sitting in my corner, filled with musical goodness. I will post photos soon, and a proper post.

You didn't make a monkey out of me.

Rollin' Wit Bob Saget

Most amusing video ever!

Oh Bob.

Do the hustle!

Update:

Final coat of black enamel applied. The finish line is quickly approaching. Tomorrow comes hoisting my accomplishment from the basement to my room, placing shelves, and filling the beast. I haven't decided if I am going to go alphabetically, or not. We'll see. I shall post a photo when I am complete. It feels good to have this almost done.

Yarrr!

Baby you're the right kind of wrong

The title says it all

Go here

Thought I would share

I'm feeling kind of down lately.

That is all.

Freedom is seldom found, by beating someone to the ground

Update:

Back from parental visit. Unscathed. Surprised.

Second coat of black enamel applied to Cd storage unit. Will this process never end? It seems like I will need to put a third coat on the outside to get a full and deep black finish. I really want this finished.

Back to the retail grind. I'm glad.

I feel like I have lost a few IQ points

So today I rediscovered why I do not watch television: A Spice Girl is being used for a SPAGHETTI SAUCE COMMERCIAL. Almost makes me want to buy that sauce, but wait-I am one of the rare minority WHO DOES NOT ALLOW CELEBRITIES TO DICTATE MY CONSUMER HABITS.

Damned pasta whores. Next thing you know Lindsay Lohan will be advertising foot powder. Then she would have another way to hide the cocaine.

If we didn't take her seriously as a singer....

Thoughts running through Paris Hilton's mind:

Wow.. since I've been caught driving under a suspended license, I will fire the one man who has devoted himself to trying to make me seem less of a trust-fund pampered bitch. I will also place the blame solely on him, and then say the sentence is too harsh.

My condolences Elliot Mintz. How you have handled Yoko Ono and Paris Hilton is BEYOND ME. Neither of them can sing, and only one was married to a Beatle.

Frankly, at least she wasn't found with a kilo of blow. Crocodile tears.

If I were invisible.

Update:

Second coat on shelves, first on unit. I put in writing now: I loathe painting stuff this big. It's no fun and hurts my arm. Have to sand now so next coat will stick properly. Oh goody. Purple monkey dishwasher.

I really want this over with.

I'm working for the weekend.

Update:

First coat of black enamel went on the shelves. I hope to Zeus that I'm supposed to put on a second coat, because if not then I am certainly screwed.

Need info??

Summer Project Update:

I have fully primed the entire cabinet inside and out, as well as the shelving. Tomorrow: begin painting in black enamel. I am hoping to have said cabinet finished and stocked with my music collection by the time I am packing for my 4-day trip to see my mother this coming Thursday night. That being said, I will sans internet from Friday morning until Monday night. Zappa help me now.

Maybe I'll post photos of my accomplishments....

Oh Ship of Fools

Here I am again, procrastinating as always.

So I'm taking my sweet time getting started on my vacation projects. My storage unit is still awaiting sanding, and I think I will start priming the shelves tonight.I have yet to start my summer reading, which is a little disconcerting. Last year whence school ended, I dove right into the Harry Potter series. The only thing I have read so far is my Revolver, such a task I tells ya. One thing I have started however is my CD database.

I catalogue all the Cd's I own. Partially for insurance purposes, partially for my own curiosity as to how many I actually have. I started doing this about 3 years ago, and at first tried cataloguing everything as I acquired it. This was quickly abandoned, only picked up when I was bored or actually found myself having some free time. Now I have devised a system: At the end of my school year, I sit down in front of my laptop, and I start inputting an entire year's worth of accumulation. I started re-cataloguing last night, and I have input about 50 or so Cd's in the last hour. I reckon I have about another 30 left ( I hope.. If I buy 80+ a year, it must mean I have way too much expendable cash) I order them by Artist name, CD name, and year it was released. This is the first year however in which I have had to remove some titles from the list. As shocking as it may sound, I actually got rid of some Cd's.

This task is kind of cathartic. After 8 months of basically pushing my life to the brink, this task marks the beginning of my months of rest, and reorganizing my life. Something rewarding in that. What the task also does is allows me some time to reflect upon the past year. I can see the musical choices I somehow made over the previous 12 months, what I thought I would listen to, but ended up shoving the Cd to the back of my shelves. But I also get to remember the experiences I have had with this music. This is probably the best part of the job. I get to remember the first concert experiences with a particular artist. A discussion had about another. The choices are endless.

Here's a task I put upon anyone reading this: go through your Cd's, vinyl, cassettes, what have you. Think about what you have, and just remember.

Have a great evening!

Laura
